The pair do not share any interactions in Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. She tells him that he's "better than the rest", even if he isn't a perfect answer to the scavenger hunt. After declaring that her best friend doesn't exist, she decides to grab Makoto. Toko is participating in a scavenger hunt and pulls a card that instructs her to find a "best friend". In the non-canonical Ultimate Talent Development Plan Makoto and Toko share an interaction. In this game, Toko becomes incredibly close with Makoto's younger sister, Komaru Naegi. In Ultra Despair Girls, it was shown that Toko warmed up to Makoto after the two left the academy. Makoto and Toko survive the Killing School Life together, and become members of the Future Foundation (although Toko is not an official member). Toko has expressed dislike for Makoto, saying she disapproves of him, but sometimes thinks of him as reliable. Makoto finds it difficult to talk to Toko, mostly because of her antisocial nature and the fact that Toko can be very accusatory. In the Chapter 2 trial, Makoto is shocked to learn that Toko Fukawa is also the serial killer, Genocide Jack. Makoto also starts worrying about Toko after a while and starts asking himself what's wrong with her before continuing on with the investigation. Later on in the same chapter, Aoi Asahina starts worrying about Toko when she locks herself up in her dorm and calls Makoto and Byakuya to help her come out. Makoto decides to come along with her to the library, and when Byakuya treats Toko poorly he looks down on the boy for it. In Chapter 2 of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Toko goes to Makoto's dorm for help with Byakuya Togami. Toko's bonus mode events are one of the few that are explicitly romantic in nature. He experiences many Free Time Events with her the most out of any other character if you include the ones he also does with her second personality, Genocide Jack. Still, Makoto continues to get to know Toko over their time together trapped in Hope's Peak. Makoto tries to explain himself, but Toko refuses to hear it. The two seem to initially get off on the wrong foot, as in their first conversation together Toko accuses Makoto of thinking that she's ugly. Makoto and Toko are both character from Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc, the first game in the series.
